Northwest MedStar works with pilots employed by Metro Aviation who are highly trained professionals averaging 300 flight hours per year. They must have a minimum of 2,500 hours of commercial flight time to be eligible for hire, and routinely undergo safety reviews, such as monthly instrument
trainings and at least three check rides each year.

Safety is Our Prime Concern
Metro's 22 helicopter and airplane pilots working at Northwest MedStar meet monthly to discuss safety issues. For example, they are trained and certified to use night vision goggles, and adhere to strict protocol regarding high winds, icy conditions or visibility restrictions.
